Report Session on “Design Thinking”

MKSSS’S Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management & Research for Women has organized MBA Pilot Study Programme (Induction Programme)  from 8th  to 18th  Feb 2021.  It was meant for the MBA Jr Students.  A session on  “Design Thinking” was scheduled  on 18th Feb. 2021 from 10.00 a.m.- 12.30 p.m

Online session on Google Meet started with introduction of Dr. Bala Ramadurai who is an author, coach, consultant and professor. He has a PhD from Arizona State University, USA, and a B.Tech from IIT Madras, India. He has authored a book on Design Thinking called Karmic Design Thinking. He currently mentors an EdTech enterprise called Knoin Electronics. He is a professor at National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning. He spoke on Design Thinking process.   He explained different ways of creative problem solving with the students.   He explained that Design thinking refers to the cognitive, strategic and practical processes by which design concepts are developed. Further he said that many of the key concepts and aspects of design thinking have been identified through studies, across different design domains, of design cognition and design activity in both laboratory and natural contexts. Then he shared his views about Design Thinking with the students. He emphasized the importance of Design Thinking in today’s highly competitive business environment.

Upon putting an end to his online session he answered the questions raised by students ably and interestingly. With kind permission of Honorable Director In charge of HNIMR Dr. Mihika Kulkarni, it was possible to execute this session smoothly. Finally Vaishnavi Bahirappa concluded the session with vote of thanks.
