REPORT OF VACHAN DIN

‘VACHAN DIN’ was celebrated by HNIMR Library on 19th June 2021 honouring the father of the ‘Library movement in Kerela” the late Sri P N Panicker.

Webinar was organised for the students of HNIMR and teaching and Non-teaching staff members at 3.00p.m. to promote good reading habits that will help them to face them the challenges of the competitive environment. It was an interactive session which was moderated by Mrs. Manjushree Nawale, Librarian of the Institute. Dr.Mihika Kulkarni, Director Incharge of the Institute highlighted the importance of good reading habits for students thus opening doors of new knowledge to enlighten their minds. She focused that good reading habits for students develops critical thinking skills, improves analytical skills, confidence building,  improves speaking and writing skills, improves focus and concentration. The most important aspect that was highlighted by madam was that “GOOD READERS ARE GOOD LEADERS”.

 

Librarian of the Institute Mrs. Manjsuhree Nawale encouraged students to read books and make Book Review presentations. Some good Literature reading was also done by some students and faculty. Overall it was an encouragement to all the students and staff to “READ and GROW”- the message of P N Foundation; by reading different books of their choice.Apart from this Librarian of the Institute also sent motivational messages on reading and useful e-resources to students and staff of HNIMR through Whatsapp messages and e-mail that can help them for academic purpose and leisure reading.

Overall Webinar was coordinated by Librarian Mrs. Manjushree Nawale with the help of Library Staff Mrs. Minal Kotwal and IT Staff Mrs. Aarti Kondhalkar under the guidance of Director Incharge Dr. Mihika Kulkarni madam.

Online platform used for conducting the event was Google Meet.
