REPORT ON “Reading Day”

Reading Day was conducted for students of HNIMR on importance of reading on 25^th April 2023 in HNIMR Auditorium.

Students were asked to choose & issue any book of their choice from the library related to general management, personality development, Interview Skills, motivational books, etc. Students were asked to read the chapter of their choice on stage in front of other students. The time allotted to read for each student was 3 minutes. Students read the books of their choice.

Following points were observed:

• Students had chosen excellent titles and content to read.
• This exercise strengthens reading habits of students and enables them to speak English in a better way which will improve self-confidence amongst students.
• Best platform for the students to improve on their vocabulary.
• Students were made aware of books in library apart from syllabus.
• Reading facilitates students in becoming a good orator and enhance overall personality development.

The day ended with discussion where students were satisfied to know the excellent titles available in the library which they could browse. The books chosen by students were on different topics related to management and allied areas. It was a very informative and useful session for the students as they were highly motivated to read good books. Feedback was taken from the students where they expressed immense satisfaction about Reading Day Activity as each student got a chance to go on stage and read content of their choice.

Overall session was coordinated by Librarian Mrs. Manjushree Nawale with the help of Library Staff Mrs. Minal Kotwal under the guidance of Director Dr. Surya Ramdas.
