REPORT ON “EBSCO E-RESOURCES DEMONSTRATION SESSION”

EBSCO E-Resources Demonstration Session under NDLI Club of HNIMR was conducted by HNIMR Library for students of HNIMR on 17^th March 2022 in HNIMR Auditorium from 1.40 p.m. to 2.40 p.m

Mr. Gaurav Date, Training Manager, Maharashtra (West India) from EBSCO Information Services was the resource person for the Session. 120 students attended the session by registering through NDLI club when the session was announced. Participants submitted outcome in NDLI club after the session was over. Mr. Gaurav Date covered the following topics with respect to EBSCO Business Source Elite – Scholarly Business Database & E-Book Business Core:

• EBSCO resources introduction.
• EBSCO Mobile App Installation and Live Demo
• Authentication and creating personal accounts
• EBSCO Computer platform > Live demo and hands on session
• Ebooks & E-journals platform demo
• How to search Case studies / Company profiles / SWOT Analysis
• Basic / Advanced Search strategies, Various Filters & Expanders.
• Bibliographic records & how to export the records in APA style format
• Download, Print, Email, Cite, Export PDF files, Export in Various Bibliographic formats.
• Create Email Alerts for search, Search Videos.
• Chapter-wise download of E-books in PDF & E-PUB.
• Quiz Contest

It was a very informative and useful session for the students as the trainer focussed on how to access EBSCO database e-resources in campus and remotely anywhere outside the Campus. He engaged the students with Quiz and Q & A. It was a certified training session and participation certificates were issued to students on Email Id after completion of the session. It was an interactive session.

Overall session was coordinated by Librarian Mrs. Manjushree Nawale with the help of Library Staff Mrs. Minal Kotwal under the guidance of Director Dr. Surya Ramdas.
