Library Orientation and NDLI Awareness Session

Library Orientation was conducted for MBA first year students by Librarian Mrs. Manjushree Nawale on 18th September 2025. The purpose of the session was to enhance the use of Library Resources among MBA students and to show the various types of resources available in print and non-print format in library. Librarian also introduced the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) portal and its resources to the students.

Following points were covered during the session

  • Library Print and Non-Print Resources available for students
  • Information of Books on Subjects, general management, personality development, interview skills, communication skills, Company profiles, literature, Series books on management topics, etc.
  • Overall infrastructure of Library, Reading Room, Digital Library
  • Library Automation and Barcoded transactions (ISSUE/RETURN/RENEW) of documents.
  • Library Facilities and Services.
  • Digital Library Access.
  • Remote Access Facility.
  • WEB OPAC facility.
  • Biometric Attendance.
  • Identity Cards and Library Transactions.
  • Rules and Regulations of Library
  • Library Activities Vachan Prerna Din, Abhijat Marathi Bhasha Diwas, NDLI Activities, etc.
  • Library page on Institutes Website for all information Like Syllabus, Question papers, digital resources links (Paid and Open Resources), etc.
  • Information on NDLI (National digital Library of India) and its membership and use of Resources on the portal.
  • Business Standard Clipping Notebook Assignment and BSmart App Registration
  • INK and INSIGHTS – Book Review Competition scheduled in November 2025
  • Library Best User Award

It was a very informative and useful session for the students as the Librarian focused on how to use Library Resources for academic needs. Use of Digital Library Resources, e-books, WEB OPAC on campus and remotely anywhere outside the campus was also one of the key aspects of Orientation. Students were motivated to use Library Resources for their academics and general reading after orientation about Library collection, services and facilities. It was an interactive session.
