Knowledge Sharing Session on the occasion of International Women’s Day organized on 15th March 2024. Learning from inspiring stories and achievements of women leaders and changemakers from diverse backgrounds. Understanding the history and significance of International Women’s Day, including its origins and evolution. Exploring successful strategies for promoting women’s participation and leadership in knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Ms. Medha Purkar – French Section head at SIFIL (Symbiosis Institute of Foreign & Indian Languages), Founder Member of “Eklavya Nyas” and “Maitra”, an organization focused on self-empowerment for middle class individuals.

Ms. Suparna Gangal– Proprietor/Director of “SMS Production”, Editorial board member of India’s oldest digital magazine ‘PreSense’, Member of Sansad Ratna Awards, also Alumnae of HNIMR.

Ms. Minal Kalasakar – Serving as a Deputy Collector and deputy district election officer Pune, lead role in establishing the 1st Nagarik Suvidha Kendra in Pune, also an Alumnae of HNIMR.

Ms. Seema Kamble – She is Hindi Literature academician, entrepreneur and activist, Member of National Women’s Wing of Dalit Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DICCI), member of Mahatma Phule Chaitra Sadhane Prakashan Samiti, GOI, and more.

Session is organised for all MBA first year students.

Knowledge Sharing Session on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

HNIMR’s Innovation, Incubation and Start-up cell has organized ‘Knowledge Sharing session’ on account of International Women’s Day on Friday, 15th March 2024. The Program started with our institution’s “Ashram Geet” followed by the introduction of the 4 guests (Ms. Medha Purkar, Ms. Suparna Gangal, Ms. Minal Mirajkar Kalasakar and Ms. Seema Kamble) and felicitation of the guests. Next, our Director Dr. Surya Ramdas Ma’am, highlighted the power of Women’s Day and spoke about how the existence of International Women’s Day started in 1908 and started as a protest by women who were not treated well on far with men as they were paid less wages, poor conditions of women and till today we face these conditions. She also mentioned that in 1975, US declared on 8th March as International Women’s Day and since 1996 International Women’s Day became a theme to celebrate women in society and also articulated about empowering women and strength to be on the driver’s seat of life.

Afterwards, we had our 1st guest speaker, Minal Ma’am, who is our alumnae, shared her journey starting from MCM journey to being Deputy Collector. She also mentioned about IT applications which will used in the coming Lok Sabha, one application is being called as an ‘expenditure sensitive application’, in which if one is distributing money to the candidates, the user can immediately click the photo of the same and share it on the app, and the team will come and check the details of the person/group offering money. She is currently handling the biggest ‘Constituency’, and is also handling the staff of 65000 people for election. She also mentioned that during the launching of ‘Chandrayan 3’, there were many females behind the scenes, and she concluded her speech by conveying that all the females should keep studying and be very knowledgeable and hard work definitely pays off.

Following, we had Suparna Ma’am’s speech, who mentioned that students should keep their college as an incubation center. She shared a few of her ups and downs situations which were very inspiring as she never lost hope. She gave the students few advice which included to be calm while any challenge is thrown at you, being curious and networking with different professionals as well and concluded by saying that even if we achieve one goal keep on learning and working on your next goal.

Then we had Medha Ma’am, who addressed the students and advocated to work on yourself is the key to have goals/achievements you want. Additionally, to have confidence and it’s never too late for any decision or plans you want to achieve. Furthermore, she shared to not only keep dreaming but to execute your dream goals and how your mental and physical health also hampers your planning and goals. She concluded her speech by motivating all of us to keep exercising as well and to have positive mental health to achieve your goals. Ultimately, we had Seema Ma’am who highlighted how women played a major role in our history as well and she gave good examples of “Rani LaxmiBai”, “Indira Gandhi”, “Savitribai Phule” and more. Ma’am also expressed her gratitude towards “Maharshi Karve” and how fortunate we are to study in all women’s college.

Lastly, she emphasized how important it is to keep gaining knowledge in our life and a good character also plays a very vital role in our life as well. The program was concluded by a divinely Pasaidan prayer.
