Webinar on National Education Policy, 2020

To mark the completion of one year of “Transforming Reforms under National Education Policy”, 2020, ” MKSSS’s Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management & Research for Women (HNIMR) organized an online webinar on 10th Aug, 2021 at 2:00pm. Webinar was based on the foremost 8 themes of NEP policy, 2020 i.e. Equity and Inclusion, Multidisciplinary & Holistic Education, Skill, Entrepreneurship Development and Employability : Challenges and Opportunities, Effect of NEP on youth Empowerment & Sports Development, Indian Knowledge System, Languages, Arts and Culture, Quality Education, Accreditation and Teacher Development, Research, Innovation & Ranking,  and Use of Technology in Education.

At the onset of the webinar Dr. Jyoti Gaikwad, explained about the purpose of organizing the webinar and explained the topic “Equity & Inclusion” in which she highlighted that whenever there is a discussion of equality, inclusion will remain as a synonym with it. Dr. Archana Pradhan emphasized on the aspect of Multidisciplinary education policy and structure. She spoke about an amalgamation of different areas in one educational system. Dr. Arpita Singh, through her discourse on Holistic education laid stress on becoming a holistic personality of having a sound body, mind, intellect and soul.

Ms. Ranjana Gogate, Dr. Prashant Mamarde addressed the audience on Skill Entrepreneurship Development and Employability: Challenges and Opportunity”. The discussion focused on the alignment of NEP 2020 with the skill and entrepreneurship initiatives of MSDE with an aim to make vocational education aspirational. Ms. Priyanka Potdar and Dr. Kamalakar Munde deliberated upon how NEP 2020 will make India’s youth future ready and aims to transform India into the world’s largest skilled workforce.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sneha Aarekar discussed the relevance of traditional knowledge systems & ancient wisdom in contemporary times and their role in the making of an Aatmanirbhar Bhara. Dr. Manasi Javdekar highlighted that We must recreate our traditional knowledge with contemporary, contextual relevance to connect with the youth.

Dr. Suvarna Dhamdhere briefed about various schemes and initiatives proposed by NEP, 2020 regarding Teacher’s development and explained the role of teachers as a facilitators in student’s life.

Dr. Pranita Sonar talked about the several criteria to provide accreditation and multi stage mechanism of accreditation process recommended by NEP, 2020.

Dr. Mihika Kulkarni explained about National Research Foundation planned by NEP, 2020 to fund and promote outstanding research and seed research in universities and colleges.

Dr. Ashok Pawar, spoke about the importance of accreditation of HEI’s also explained in detailed about the criterions to be considered for ranking of the institute.

Dr. Sonali Parchure underlined that Teachers can leverage technology to achieve new levels of productivity, implement useful digital tools to expand learning opportunities for students, and increase student support and engagement.

Mr. Ganesh Lotke discussed all the initiatives of use of technology in education highlighted in NEP, All these resource persons shared their insightful thoughts with students helping them gain an overall understanding of National Education Policy, 2020. Students found the sessions very interesting and informative.
