Every year on 27 February, Marathi Language Day or Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din is celebrated to honor the birth anniversary of renowned Marathi poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, also known as Kusumagraj.
HNIMR Library celebrated this auspicious day with students and staff under NDLI Club as follows:
- Reading of Marathi literature like Poems, fiction, etc. was organized for MBA students by HNIMR Library. Students read Marathi literature of their choice especially poems and literature written by Kusumagraj. Top three students received prizes.
- Library also arranged display of selected Marathi Books and selected poems of Kusumagraj were displayed to motivate users to issue and read Marathi literature.
Students and staff gave an overwhelming response to read Marathi literature. After the program, students visited the library and issued Marathi literature books that were displayed in library. Overall session was coordinated by Librarian Mrs. Manjushree Nawale with the help of faculty members Dr.Arpita Singh, Dr. Pranita Sonar and Library Staff Mrs. Minal Kotwal under the guidance of Director Dr. Surya Ramdas.
