INK and INSIGHTS: Book Review Competition was organized by HNIMR Library on 13th November 2025 for MBA students.

Mr. Amrut Deshmukh, The Booklet Guy and Author of “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Readers” were invited as Guest and Judge for the Event. The Event started with the inauguration ceremony and motivational talk by Mr. Amrut Deshmukh Sir who highlighted the importance of reading and elaborated his ‘Mission Make India Read’ to the audience. The Booklet App was the major attraction among students and staff members.

Guest and Judge Mr. Amrut Deshmukh was felicitated during the inaugural ceremony by the Director of the Institute Dr. Priyanka Singh with a Book and token of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for his inspiring presence. Dr. Priyanka Singh in her introductory talk highlighted the uniqueness of the event and the importance of team work to build leadership, planning and execution skills. Director Madam appreciated the sincere efforts of the students in preparing Book Review presentations very creatively. She also appreciated the efforts taken by Librarian Mrs. Manjushree Nawale and Library team to coordinate with all the students. Mrs. Manjushree Nawale, Librarian and Coordinator of the event briefed about the entire day’s proceedings and the books chosen by the students.

The main objectives of INK and INSIGHTS – Book Review Presentation was to make students read books related to management and allied areas and also give an exposure to their creativity in displaying the topic chosen in Book Review presentation. Students groups were formed. Each group chose one book of their choice. Students were motivated to analyze, interpret and express their views on books of their choice.

Students presented their Book Reviews and ideas followed by Question & Answer round by the Booklet Guy Mr. Amrut Deshmukh. Relevance of the Book chosen, Presentation, Teamwork and Creativity were the criteria for judging. Management Lessons learnt were the most important aspect of the presentation.

Mr. Amrut Deshmukh appreciated the efforts and creativity of the students especially the Books and topics selected by all the teams, enthusiasm and the presentation skills of the students and overall coordination of the event.

Prizes were declared to the best group presentations. Best of the three and consolation prizes were declared during Valedictory Function. Team ‘The Unbound Minds’ won the first Prize for the Book “India Unbound” written by Gurcharan Das.  Trophies, Certificates and Cash prizes were distributed at the hands of Director Dr. Priyanka Singh and Judge Mr. Amrut Deshmukh.

The overall event aimed to develop critical thinking, enhance communication skills and create a culture of reading among students. The entire event was coordinated by Librarian, Mrs. Manjushree Nawale with the help of library staff Mrs. Minal Kotwal and student Volunteers under the guidance of Director Dr. Priyanka Singh.
