The Ganpati festival, one of the most widely celebrated festivals in India, was observed with great enthusiasm and devotion at HNIMR Institute. The event took place from 7th September to 8th September, bringing together students, staff, and faculty members to celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom. The celebrations commenced with an inauguration ceremony on 7th Sept, where the beautifully adorned idol of Lord Ganesha was brought to the institution. The idol was installed at the central hall, decorated with vibrant flowers and lighting. The ceremony began with the traditional “Ganesh Sthapana” ritual, led by the institution’s head along with the participation of students and faculty. Aarti (prayer) was performed.
The festival concluded with the Visarjan (immersion) ceremony on 8th Sept. Firstly, all the students and staff members were chanting ‘Atharvashirsha’ and then ‘Ganesh Strotra’, concluding with Aarti of Ganpati. The immersion was conducted in a nearby water body using eco-friendly methods to minimize environmental impact.
The Ganpati festival at HNIMR was a grand success, fostering a sense of unity, devotion, and cultural pride among everyone involved. The festival not only upheld the spiritual traditions of the institution but also highlighted the importance of environmental consciousness.
