  • Administrative Action in the Event of Ragging:

The Anti-Ragging Committee may, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad, award, to those found guilty, one or more of the following punishments, namely;

  1. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  2. Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
  3. Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process.
  4. Withholding results.
  5. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  6. Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel.
  7. Cancellation of admission.
  8. Rustication from the institution for a period ranging from one to four semesters.
  9. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.

OBC Committee

In order to ensure due compliance of the orders of reservation issued from time to time in favour of Other Backward Class and to ensure prompt disposal of the Grievances of the employees of OBC Category, this OBC Cell has been established.

Objectives:
  • To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in University and plan measures for ensuring effective implementation of the policy and programmes of the Government of India and UGC.
  • To educate, enlighten and empower the students and staff of OBC categories in the university to make use of the facilities extended by the Govt. and other agencies for their educational & occupational career.
  • To collect data regarding the implementation of the policies in respect of admissions, appointments to teaching and non-teaching positions in the universities and analyze the data showing the trends and changes towards fulfilling the required quota.

Functions:

  • To circulate the orders and other circulars issued by the University/ Government of India and UGC (University Grant Commission) and to collect regularly, on an annual basis, information regarding course-wise admission of candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes in the University in prescribed form within the stipulated date, and to take follow-up action, wherever required.
  • To circulate the orders and other circulars issued by Government of India and University Grants Commission’s decisions in respect of appointment and promotion for teaching and non-teaching posts in the University in suitable forms by a stipulated date and take follow up action wherever required.
  • To collect reports, orders and information issued by Government of India and the UGC on the various aspects of Education, Training and Employment of other Backward Classes candidates for evolving new Policies or modifying existing policies.
  • To analyses information so collected and prepare reports and digests for onward transaction to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, University Grant Commission and such other authorities as may be required.
  • To monitor the working of the remedial Coaching Scheme in the University for OBC students, including Minorities students.
  • To co-ordinate through university with Govt. (State & Central), UGC and such other organizations to get Scholarship/freeship/other financial benefits for OBC & minority students.
  • To deal with representations received from Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Minorities Candidates regarding their admission, Scholarships, Recruitment, Promotion and other similar matters in the University.
  • To maintain a database of candidates belonging to OBC
  • Any other works assigned by the University from time to promote higher education among OBC students and staff.
  • The OBC Cell will exclusively look after the work related to the OBC
  • To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  • To provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any events at the campus.

SC / ST Committee

The scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell in an institute promotes the special interest of students in the reserved category and to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficult.

Objectives:-

  1. To provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.
  2. To organize interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to address their personal, social and academic problems.
  3. To conduct / co-ordinate training programmes for students in life skills and personality development to help in their placement
  4. To review follow up measures taken to achieve the objectives and targets laid down by the Govt. of India and the UGC.
  5. To circulate State Govt. and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship programs.
  6. To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
  7. To facilitate SC/ST students to avail the Scholarships offered by the Government.
  8. To conduct remedial coaching classes for the students (priority to SC/ST) for their academic improvement.

Minority Committee

Introduction

Minority cell of the college was established with the purpose of empowering the minority communities in the college. The College has been very much keen to provide services to the educational and cultural needs of the Minority community along with other caste, creed and Nationality. The Minority Cell basically helps minority students including Christian, Muslim etc. for their academic development.

Objectives

  • To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  • To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources.
  • To be aware of the minority students regarding various scholarships program of State and Central Government.
  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the Constitution of India.
  • To encourage in career orientation programs that would empower and equip them with the necessary skills to choose career options.
  • Focusing on students mental health by conducting online and offline seminars from world renowned scholars
  • Improving their communication skills in spoken English and other major languages
  • Updating them on all scholarships and helping them to benefit from it.
  • Teaching them about moral values to take care of their family and the society
  • To gain awareness about their rights and their contributions in politics

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of minority students to render them necessary help in solving academic as well as administrative problems.
  • To arrange special opportunities to enhance the carrier growth of these students.
  • To conduct the program for disseminating the scholarship schemes provided by governmental agencies and other sources.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee

Sexual harassment at a College is considered violation of women’s right to equality, life and liberty. It creates an insecure and hostile learning environment, which discourages women’s participation in College, thereby adversely affecting their social and economic empowerment and the goal of inclusive growth.

With more and more women joining the College, both in organized and unorganized sectors, ensuring an enabling College environment for women through legislation is felt imperative by the Government. The proposed legislation contains provisions to protect every woman from any act of sexual harassment irrespective of whether such woman is employed or not.

To comply with the directives of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India requiring all employers to develop and implement a policy for prevention of sexual harassment at the College.

To evolve a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender based violence at the College.

To follow and implement the Act enjoining all employers to constitute an “Internal Complaints Committee” and lay down guidelines for redressal of complaint related to sexual harassment at the College.

Objectives:-

  1. To create awareness about sexual harassment and its prevention.
  2. To prevent sexual harassment in the organization.
  3. To report the cases of sexual harassment in the organization to the concerned authority.

Execution:-

The awareness is created through dissemination of information regarding sexual harassment and its prevention.
Nirbhya Kanya was organized as one of the initiative to make girls aware of their rights and skills required for self-protection.

Grievance Redressal Committee

The Grievance Redressal Committee is formed as per the guidelines of AICTE Act,1987. The committee is formed for imparting transparency in admissions, preventing unfair practices, sexual harassment, complaints of alleged discrimination by students of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, OBC, Minority, disabled categories and to provide a mechanism to students and other stakeholders for on time redressal of their grievance.

Procedure

The person concerned with the grievance shall fill the Grievance Redressal Form available on college website. The committee will investigate into the matter, referring to facts and documentations the committee shall try to resolve the grievance as quickly as possible.

Scope

  1. Formation of Grievance redressal committee to handle grievances.
  2. Grievances of students, faculty members and staff to be redressed separately.
  3. Redressing grievances promptly.
  4. Providing platform to employees to present their issues without prejudging or commenting.
  5. Ensuring proper investigation of facts and documents related to problem.

  7. Using positive and friendly ways to solve the crisis.
