On 23rd September 2017 the MBA HR specialization students of Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research (HNIMR), visited ‘Lear Automotive India Pvt. Ltd.
This visit was organized with prior permission and guidance of Director sir, Dr.Jagdish Pol.
Prof. Archana Tatkar, Prof. Manasi Javadekar, Prof. Geeta Jadhav and Prof. Priyanka Potdar were the co-coordinators of this whole industrial visit.
The visit was organised in order to explore practical and to have an overview on the activities related to the manufacturing plant and Human Resource Department.
At the beginning of the visit Mr. Ramesh Birajdar, Manager at Lear Automotive and Ms. Swarupa, HR professional at Lear briefed about the company, its management structure, Internal Job Posting Programme (IJP) etc. Mr. Birajdar explained about the companies working and smooth functioning, whereas Ms. Swarupa explained more about HR policies, Performance Appraisal, Employee Connect, Learning and Development in Lear Corporation.
It was followed by Plant Visit, where students practically saw seats of the car being manufactured. Mr. Birajdar exhibited the students throughout the plant, showed how chemicals converted into foam and later how it was made ready to sell. Sir introduced the students with old and new types of recliners which made cars much lighter than past. There were different sections for different brand customers like Mahindra, Tata, Jeep, Mercedes Benz, Chevrolet, Volkswagen etc.
It was indeed great learning experience.
