Orientation for MBA –I batch 2012-14
It is a new beginning again at Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research Pune. The new academic year brings in new tasks, new dreams and new faces to the campus of HNIMR!
The Institute welcomed the new MBA-I batch with the Orientation programme especially organized for them. The programme was scheduled on 30.07.12 from 9.30 am onwards. The orientation provides an overview about the culture and activities at HNIMR. The programme began with a short video film about the Samstha’s work in various areas. The Research Centre Head, Dr. Mukund Tapkir started the programme with his speech about Maharshi Karve and his legacy. He also highlighted the enormous work of the Samstha for women empowerment.
The Director, Dr. Bharati Dole welcomed all the students at HNIMR. In her speech she emphasized the importance of management education in different areas of our day to day life and also in nation building. She also added that students should develop managerial approach in practical life. She encouraged them about not losing the societal touch and angle of management education. While concluding she wished all the students for their joyful educational journey for coming two years. It was a very powerful speech which motivated the students very much.
The second highlight of the day was the session on ‘How to live MBA?’ by Mr. Chakor Gandhi. He enlightened the students with his speech and highlighted the need of essential managerial qualities needed for a MBA graduate. He also wished all the students for their bright career in management.
After the lunch break, students were introduced to the current Student Council who took over the afternoon session. They organized various ice breaking games and activities to for the students to open up and be familiar with each other and the seniors.
The day ended with a joyful conclusion and a warm welcome to the new batch!
