Report on: International Conference at HNIMR, Pune. Topic: Empowering Artificial Intelligence through Business Strategies.

On 15th and 16th Feb’19 MKSSS’s Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women organized an International Conference on “Empowering Artificial Intelligence through Business Strategies”. Under the guidance of director Dr. Jagdish Pol- Chief Convener, the HR Team of the Institute organized the Conference. The Programme Convener of the International Conference was Dr. Arpita Singh. The chief guest of the Inaugural ceremony was Dr. Amit Andre (Vice President, Vinsys Corporation, USA. The other delegates were Ms. Sophia Nebel (DE international services, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Pune), Dr. Rachana Shikare (Dean, DYPMIS), Mr. Prasad Adawadkar (Founder, AuraApps Consulting). We also had Japanese delegates to grace the ceremony, Mr. Mitsugu Shinke (ShiN President) and Mr. Seizo Tsuji ,Mr. Kohei Isa,            Mr. Tsukasa Nagayoshi, Mr. Tatsunori Onishi  from Wakayama Prefectual Government center.

The Inauguration was  followed by lecture series on topics like on ‘Object Detection Using Deep Learning’ by Mr. Arun Kumar Nair (Head AI, Canspirit Artificial Intelligence, Pune), ‘Digital Innovation-Your Key to Smart & Intelligent Future’ by Mr. Pinaki Bhowmick (Founder-DX & beyond). It was followed by a Panel discussion on ‘Perspective of Millennia’s towards Devising Business Strategy for AI’ the panelists were Mr. Rony Mathew (Leader Designate -HR, PARI Robotics) , Mr. Prasad Adawadkar (Founder, AuraApps Consulting) , Ms. Shonelle Thakkar (Co- founder &CEO – Diquery Digital LLP) and Ms. Trupti Pansare (Director, HR, Inteliment Technologies). The Academicians, Corporates and Students presented their Research Paper on different aspects of AI and its utility in building business strategies.

The Second  day started with a lecture on ‘AI- The new Skilling Wave In Industry 4.0’ by Mr. Rohit Ghosh (Founder, CEO-Pedagogy). Followed by a session on ‘Holistic Approach to AI’ by Prof. D.P Apte (Registrar, MIT WPU, Pune). Post lunch session was on ‘AI- Impact on Employment & ways to use it to our advantage’ by Mr. Chandrashekar Adawadkar (Management consultant and practicing CA),  ‘Organizing for an AI future’ by Mr. Shantam Shukla(Lead Innovation Officer, Forbes Marshall) and ‘ Illustrating AI for business’ by Dr. Mahendra Ramdasi (Transformational Consulting , IBM,Pune).

The conference concluded with a Valedictory session graced by eminent personalities like Mr. Etienne Chaperon (Director, CEO United Crane Components) chief guest of the ceremony, Mr. Elstan Fernandez, Dr. Rachana Shikhare (Dean, DYPMIS), Mr. Prasad Adawadkar, (Founder, AuraApps Consulting)  Director – HNIMR Dr. Jagdish Pol (Chief Convener) & Dr. Arpita Singh (Programme Convener).

Report on PANACHE 2019

A cultural event is the best stress buster for any institute from its rigorous schedule of studies. Every year the students from across Pune wait for intercollegiate cultural event at HNIMR – ‘PANACHE”. It is a mega event which is imbibed with numerous other sub-events (competition). This year the event was organized on 29th, 30th and 31st of January 2019. The event got tremendous response from participants.

On the very first day, the event was inaugurated by a popular cine faces

Ms. Savaniee Ravindra & Ms. Rajashri Nikam in the presence of ocean of audience. The institute’s CDC chairperson Prof. N. D. Patil and director Dr. Jagdish Pol were also present for the inauguration ceremony.

During this event 20 competitions were organized i.e. Table Tennis, Suryanamaskar, Long Jump, Face Painting, Mehendi, Singing, Street Play, Rangoli, Group Dance, Solo Dance, Fashion Show etc.

Of all these 3 days all the competitions were a success and all the participants gave in their whole-hearted effort to it. The best thing of this mega event was the enthusiasm of participants and there vigor. Any event to be a success always needs a concrete base and this base was the entire team of HNIMR which included first and foremost the Director Dr. Jagdish Pol Sir, faculty guide of event – Prof. Archana Pradhan, Dr. Geeta Jadhav, Prof. Priyanka Potdar and Prof. Prashant Mamarde, all the student event heads and the volunteers who worked day in day out for the event to become a grand success. This event had become the talk of the town only because of their dedicated efforts for it.

On the last day a closing ceremony was organized with Prize distribution. For this again a popular face of Marathi movies Miss. Surbhi Bhave was present. She felicitated the winners. The guests for the event praised the entire event and the Panache team. For all the sub-events well known dignitaries had come to judge the participants.

The participant and faculty member from other college also appreciated the efforts of “Student volunteers” of Panache which was definitely a proud moment for HNIMR.

 

Report on MINDS MEET Event at HNIMR

‘MINDS MEET’ Event was organized on 18th January 2019 for MBA students by HNIMR LIBRARY. The Chief Guest and Key note speaker for the event were Ms. Nistha Tripathi, reputed author from Sage Publications. Nistha Tripathi Madam is a tech enthusiast and entrepreneur turned author of the bestselling book “No Shortcuts”. She is running her award winning education consultation venture “Scholar Strategy” and writing books. Apart from running Scholar Strategy, she conducts aspirational talks for students and writing workshops for bloggers.

Author Nistha Tripathi Madams book “No Shortcuts: Rare Insights from Successful Start-up Founders” features the interviews of 15 popular and successful founders from India and is declared a bestseller.

The main objective of the event was to invite a reputed author in the institute so that the students could interact with the author and gain insights on the book “No Shortcuts” authored by Nistha Tripathi. Author’s session covered traits and common patterns among various successful startups that she has covered in the book. She guided students that if they are interested in doing a startup and want to understand what it takes to build successful startup then rather than taking shortcuts one should research and find gap that will work for their start up.

This session was very interactive which helped the students in developing a more positive personality and increase their confidence level to face the challenges of the corporate world. It was an inspiration to the students and reminder of their own possibilities that they too can be a successful entrepreneur ahead in their life.

Report on Ganpati Festival Celebration

In order to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture, HNIMR celebrates various festivals on campus… Ganesh Festival is one of it…

On 13th Sep. 2018 on the occasion of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with full enthusiasm HNIMR staff and students installed the ‘Ganesha idol’ in the institute for 7 days. The multi-talented students of HNIMR started preparations for decorations before 7 days only…. glittery papers, beautiful flowers, attractive decoration pieces… witnessed student’s enthusiasm.

These 7 days were filled with grand ‘aartis’, delicious prashad and lots of blessing from ‘Ganpati Bappa’.

On 7th days, traditionally dressed HNIMR students and staff with ‘Fhetas’ participated in Ganpati immersion rally. In the sound of ‘Dhol’ and ‘Taasha’ HNIMR immersed its Ganesh idol. Students are well aware about their social responsibility. We immersed the idol in a tank…. These 7 days were indeed the most enchanting days on the campus.

‘BOOK SHELF ACTIVITY’ was organized on 28.09.18 for MBA Students by HNIMR LIBRARY.

The Guest and Judges for the event were Mrs. Ravee Deshpande, a renowned translator in Pune and Dr. Prachi Murkute, who is working as a faculty of HR at Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management Studies and Research. BVIMSR, Navi Mumbai.

The main objectives of the event were to make students read reference books in management and allied areas and also make them understand ‘How to write a Book Review’ and to make ‘Power Point Presentations related to the book chosen’. 180 students were divided into 15 groups and each group had to choose one book of their choice. They had to read the book and make Model, Power Point Presentation and also write a review on the Book. Management Lessons learnt from the book was the most important aspect of the activity. It was a competition and prizes were declared to best group presentations amongst 15 groups. Apart from top three and consolation prizes, individual prizes for Innovative Model, Innovative Book Review and Innovative PPT were also given.

Dr. Jagdish Pol, Director, HNIMR highlighted the importance of reference reading and importance of team work, planning and execution for management students for success in the long run. Judges too appreciated the efforts done by the students.

The event was an excellent platform for students to browse and read different books related to management and allied areas, study different aspects and research perspectives related to management and also a lesson to work in teams to achieve success.

Report On Dahi-Handi

Dahi-Handi celebration – a cultural event and a tool to develop ‘Team building and Competitive spirit’ is integral part of college life at HNIMR.

This year on 4th September 2018, HNIMR students celebrated Dahi –handi festival in the college campus.  Director of this institute Dr.Jagdish Pol  and staff members were present for the same. After worshiping lord Krishna, a competition was held between MBA junior and seniors for breaking Handi.  Since last year in order to ensure safety of the students, the student council of HNIMR decided to break the handi in an innovative way. A blind folded team leader broke the handi with a stick and other team members were guiding her through instructions. MBA Juniors won the competition. After victory, for celebrations even seniors joined the juniors and had a gala time…

At end the nutritious ‘prasad’ of ‘gopal kala’ was served to all the attendees…

‘Esperanza 2018’ – welcome ceremony for MBA – I batch 2018-20

The most awaited event for all the new comers…. an unique blend of management and celebration…. ‘Esperanza 2018 – welcome ceremony for MBA – I batch 2018-20’ was organised by MBA seniors of HNIMR.

Every year this event is been organized by MBA seniors to welcome the juniors in the new environment and help them to cope up with the new beginning in the college!

This year the theme of ‘Esperanza’ was ‘Be your own self’. Fashion show of seniors and juniors, cultural program and selection of Miss. Freshers were the main attractions of the event. After going through 3 different rounds of ‘Miss Fresher’s’, Miss. Gauri Pise secured ‘Miss Fresher’s’ crown and runner up was Miss.Rekha Singh.

Girls were beautifully dressed according the theme and the uniqueness of all the students was visible in the evening. This year the institute announced 3 new titles ‘Miss Hatke’, ‘Miss Best Personality, ‘Miss Photogenic’.

Annual Award Function – 2018

The Annual Award Function of Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and research for Women was held on 17th April’18. These awards were given for academic excellence and other Co- curricular achievements of the MBA Students. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr.  N. S. Umarani, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University and the Guest of Honor for the event was Prof. N.D Patil , Vice-Chairman (MKSSS), LMC-Chairman (HNIMR) and Mrs. Sulakshana  Sule , Regional Proposals Manager, Metito Overseas Ltd.

The Director of the institute Dr Jagdish Pol welcomed & felicitated the guests and briefed the audience about the activities and achievements of the Institute. Then Dr.  N. S. Umarani , Prof. N. D. Patil and Mrs. Sulakshana  Sule addressed the gathering.

The  Annual Award Function  witnessed  the  celebration   of  the  awardees  and their  parents,  the  unending  support  of  the  teaching   and  non-teaching  staff  for  it  to  become  a  success  and  the  endless   support  and the  guidance  of    Director , Dr.  Jagadish  Pol.

Anubandh – Alumnae Meet 2018

On 10th March, 2018 Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha’s Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research celebrated “Anubandh 2018”. It was an Alumnae meet organized by the institute. More than 100 alumnae from 1998-2016 batches were present for this event.

On this occasion, all the alumnae visited  Maharshi Karve Museum, Maharshi Karve and Baya Karve’s samadhi, Zhopadi etc. Information regarding various departments within HNIMR was presented through exhibition stalls. Cultural programs were also arranged by current students of the institutes.   Few alumnae participated in the event through video conferencing.

Games like “Chai pe Charcha” and various fun activities were organized for entertainment. These activities were enjoyed a lot by alumnae as their nostalgic college memories were revived again.

Dignitaries like personnel officer of  MKSSS, Mr. Girish Huddar sir and public relation Officer  MKSSS  Mr. Pradeep Waje Sir, also graced their presence for event. They gave information about various schemes under the MKSSS.

The whole event was organized under guidance of director of the institute, Dr. Jagdish Pol Sir. Faculty in charge Prof. Suvarna Dhamdhere and Prof. Pranita Sonar also contributed their skills and efforts under his guidance to make this event successful.

 

     
     
     

 

 

Industrial Visit at RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd.

On 7th Mar’18 MBA Jr. Students visited RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd.                    44 MBA Jr. Students and 2 faculty members, Ms. Geeta Jadhav & Ms. Priyanka Poddar visited the company.

Mr. Kalpesh Girame (Manager – HR) and Mr. Dinesh Bandal (TQM – Manager) oriented the students on following points:

  1. About RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd.                 .
  2. Along with the Plant visit the corporates briefed the students about the products and the operations at the shop floor.
  3. The Compensation & benefits policies of the organization were shared.
  4. The operational synopses of HR, Finance & Operations were also discussed by the corporates.
  5. Employee engagement activities.
  6. The corporates also gave an inview to the students regarding the various opportunities and openings they can have in the sector.

This visit gave an opportunity to students to visualize the operation of Manufacturing Company.
