Congratulations to HNIMR students for successfully completing a short certificate course in Fundamentals of .Net and C#

HNIMR has successfully conducted a short certificate course in association with the Posh Technologies, Pune on Fundamentals of .Net and C# for MBA Computer Management Students. The 25 hours programme was followed by an examination. The lectures were conducted with hands-on exercises and concurrent online assignments in computer lab. The progamme added value to students’ knowledge on emerging and current trends in software development.

HNIMR has successfully conducted a complete certification course in association with the Academy of Financial Training on basic excel file management and advanced excel skills with evaluations, simulations, practice sessions and exercises. MBA senior students from all the specializations were enrolled for this course. Excel is one of the most important skills used by the industry so this course has been pursued to increase the employability quotient of our MBA Students.

1. Volleyball team secured 4th place in UoP’s Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournament. Following are the names of team member:

 8. Gymkhana Day was celebrated on 15th March, 2013 to distribute certificates, prizes and mementos to students who had participated in various sports tournaments during the academic year 2012-13. Ms. Anuja Marathe and Ms. Sneha Ghatpande were the Guest of Honor for this event who and distributed the certificates, prizes and mementos to the winners.

ED Week 2013

Every year for one week, lakhs of people across the country, come together to celebrate Entrepreneurship Week India. Designed to build public awareness and support for entrepreneurship, E Week India focuses public attention on today’s biggest opportunities and encourages participants to reflect on their role as leaders and innovators. The campaign is led by the National Entrepreneurship Network and supported by the Wadhwani Foundation.

 

THEME : This year the theme for E-Week was Innovation. Encouraging innovation is the first step to win the future of a country. But pinning our hopes on innovation has far more urgent reasons. India’s future growth will have to come from new industries that create new products and processes. The only durable strength we have that can withstand the downturns of economic crisis is — innovation.

 

HNIMRW as member of NEN participates every year in E-Week. This year we celebrated the week during 9th February 2013 to 16th February 2013.

Following activities were organized during E-Week

  1. 1.      Studying profile of Creative Entrepreneurs. –  Student Activity

Students visited following web sites and studied the information about various innovative products.

They had to make one page report about the innovative products with following guidelines

  1. Name of the Inventor
  2. Year of Invention
  3. The brief information about the product and its uses
  4. Whether the product has been launched
  5. Whether any award is received.
    1. Inaugural Function –  On 9th February 2013 Mr. Ayan Bandyopadhyay, NEN consultant was present on HNIMR campus to take pledge and he guided all students regarding successful implementation of E-Week.
    2. E-Talk – On 8th February HNIMR organized ‘My story’ sessions of Entrepreneurs. The first session was successfully delivered by Mr. Pradeep Bhalvankar, He is founder of Twin Engineers. He shared his journey and views on Excellent practices for successful business. Twin Engineers since its inception in 1993 started with manufacturing simple products like hand held dispensers. Now They have moved on to offer total solution to customers in terms of ‘Adhesive and sealant dispensing machines’ and ‘Industrial Fluid Filling Machines’. They have today more than 100 satisfied and trusted customers.

 

  1. Panel Discussion – On 9th HNIMR organized a Panel discussion on the topic ‘Business Excellence and Challenges and opportunities in Entrepreneurship’. Mr. Kiran Deshpande, Financial Consultant, Mr. Rajeev Kher, Founder of Saraplast, Shramik (Mobile toilet Business) and Mr. Abhijit Gangoli, Founder of QED Batton, a company which provides customer retention solutions participated in Panel Discussion.

 

  1. Cooking Classes – Two HNIMR students conducted cookinh classes on 11th February 2013. They taught to make Cakes and Chocolates. There were 30 participants including students and faculty members.

 

  1. E-Bazaar-Mini fair : –  On 12th like every year HNIMR organized Mini fair, Entrepreneurs’ Bazaar. There were total 50 stalls in categories of food, readymade cloths, gift articles, jewelry, mehendi, Tattoo making etc. Students of HNIMR and as well as from other management and undergraduate colleges participated in E-Bazaar.

 

  1. Idea Generation workshop – On 13th February 2013 a workshop was organized for students. Three Entrepreneurs were invited to guide students about generating ideas and effective Implementation of idea to convert into business. Mr. Sandeep Potdar, Bapu’s services ltd, Mr. Abhay Chidri, Discover Pacaging India, and Ms. Rupali Develekar, Eco-friendly jewelry business guided participants. They shared their ventures with reference to how they got the idea of business and how they converted into business and now how they are still sustaining in this competitive world.

 

We are very pleased to announce that HNIMR ED Cell has won Honour Roll in E-Week 2013. This was the third year to win Honor Roll which  is often awarded to those institutes who have put in significant efforts, in spite of difficulties and constraints during E Week. NEN believes that these efforts deserve national recognition.

HNIMR Co-curricular cell – Envision 2013

“Envision 2013” PPT presentation competition was organised for undergraduate students from Junior colleges in and around Pune. The competition was held on 21st February 2013 from 10.00 a.m. onwards at conference hall, HNIMR. Dr. Bharati Dole, Director-HNIMR welcomed all the students and wished them for the competition. The participants were given 5 to 7 minutes for presenting their pre-selected topic. The participants selected their topic from the topics like My college katta, my favorite youth icon, Money and lifestyle, Generation gap, Science and technology, Role of youth in development of India, Women empowerment, India of my Dreams etc. which were allowed for presentation. Total 23 students (15 teams) from colleges like kaveri college, Cummins Engineering college, Siddhivinayak College, BMCC, SP, MNVIT, SNDT etc. participated in the event. The participants were evaluated based on criteria like presentation skill, communication skill, relevance of content, overall impact etc. Dr. Mukund Tapkir and Dr. Atul Deshpande were the judges for the event.

The event was co-ordinated by Sakshi Koul and Mitali Baldota under the guidance of Director Madam and the faculty members under the co-curricular cell being Dr. Deshpande, Dr. Pawar, Prof. Gaikwad, Prof. Singh, Prof. Thite and Prof. Lotke.

ANNUAL AWARD FUNCTION – 2013

The Annual Awards Function of Smt Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and research for Women was held on 18th March 2013. These awards were given for academic excellence and other achievements. The Chief Guest for the event was Ms. Reshma Kane, CMO, Clarice technologies, Pune and the Guest of Honor for the event was Ms. Nileema Mishra, Magsaysay award winner 2011 and founder of Bhagini Nivedita Gramin Vigyan Niketan (BNGVN). Mr. Milind Lele, LMC Chairperson, HNIMR and other members of Samstha were present for the function.

The Director of the institute Dr Bharati Dole welcomed the guests and briefed the audience about the activities and achievements of the institute.

The Murthy Gold Medals for excellence of the Infosys Foundation went to students who secured the first position in the 6 specializations i.e. Marketing management, Finance management, Human Resource management, Computer management, Production and operations management and International business management. The chief Guest, Ms. Reshma Kane, gave an inspirational discourse on the frame work of a successful Career path of today’s Working Women .She laid stress on being winners not runner-ups, which is only possible when one has a healthy mind in a healthy body.

The Guest of Honor, Ms. Nileema Mishra, shared her own experiences, quoting several examples orienting towards Empowerment of Rural Women through self help groups and motivated the students to take up the most unbeaten path towards success.

The students of research cell at HNIMR, who have been awarded PhD being Dr. Medha Kumthekar, Dr. Leela Ketkar and Dr. Mukund Deshpande were also felicitated along with their respective guides in presence of the Head of the Research Cell Dr. Mukund Tapkir. While concluding the function Mr. Milind Lele, LMC Chairperson, HNIMR congratulated all the awardees and emphasized that students should apply various management principles in their day-to-day life.

The consistent efforts of the students and faculty with the support and motivation by Mr. Milind Lele, the LMC Chairperson, HNIMR and Director Dr. Bharati Dole made the event a grand success.
